Back Home from Cancun/Book Offer
6/14/2018

Hello, Everyone!

We're back home - from our "siesta in Cancun" as it were.  Speaking on behalf of my new wife, Nancy, we had a wonderful time.  We even visited an underground cave about 60 minutes north of Cancun, bus wise.  I guess I would call it one of the unexpected highlights of our visit to Mexico.  It was called Rio Secreto, not Cave Secreto, because of an underground river that flowed through it.  Not being too comfortable with water over my head, I did panic a time or two when our guide led us into water above our heads; but he managed to rescue me from drowning when I panicked - and so I am here to tell you about it.  What a wonderful experience to see and creep through an underground cave millions of years old and see all those stalactites hanging from the ceiling and stalagmites "growing" up from the base of the cave.  Like I say, creeping through Rio Secreto was probably one of my unexpected highlights.  Any resort you may stay at in Cancun will probably allow for a tour like that which we were treated to - for a price, of course.

It was all arranged by Debbie, Nancy's 50ish daughter; and Debbie's youngest, Robin (27), and son, Lyric (7), joined Debbie and Nancy and me.  If it had been up to me, I would have spent my honeymoon at the nearby rock mountains called Vedauwoo, but thanks to Debbie who is a bit more adventurous than the "kid" here, we flew 1776 miles southeast of Laramie, Wyoming to Cancun - that is the way the crow flies.  I am sure United flew well over 2000 miles to get us there, but the way the crow flies, I am told, it is 1776 miles from Laramie, Wyoming to Cancun, Mexico.  How about that?

Anyway, we are back home from Rio Secreto and from Cancun.  I gave a few of my books away to folks at the resort we stayed at - Sandos Resort - and told Sandos I would be glad to supply a free copy of whatever book someone there might find interesting, by checking out links to my books via my writings website; and I will be glad to extend that offer to everyone.  Ask, supply a shipping address, and I will send you one copy of whatever book of 8 I have published recently.  OK?  Of course, my writings are all personal opinion, but I do believe all writings are.  We all have personal opinions - even though some of us may be under the impression that what we believe has been "revealed" to us from on high, so to speak.  That is truly sad because it tends to negate the real importance and significance of having an opinion in the first place.  At least, I think so.  How about you?

Enuf!  Be in touch as you wish - and order whichever book you wish too.  Call it a "Wedding Present" from Nancy and me.  Alright?

Thanks!

Bye for now!

Gently,

Francis William Bessler (age 76)
and wife, Nancy Shaw (age 85).
